MS Dhoni almost took CSK to an improbable victory against Rajasthan Royals in Chennai on Wednesday, 12th April 2023. The Chennai Super Kings skipper who was leading the franchise for 200th time kept the fans at the edge of their seat with some brilliant hitting at the death overs. However the 41-year-old couldn’t seal the victory as the home team fell short by three runs. Despite the loss, fans have got their prize’s worth and hailed Dhoni for his efforts with the willow.
Dhoni scored 32 off 17 balls. He slammed three sixes and two fours in the innings that almost helped take CSK close to victory. In the end, 4 runs were needed of the final delivery off the innings. Under pressure, Sandeep Sharma bowled a terrific full-length delivery that Dhoni could only manage to hit for a single.
Despite the loss, Twitter was abuzz with tributes to Dhoni for his efforts that almost took CSK close to their third successive victory of the season.
